This is Lucy, my dog, the day we adopted her. I didn't know a lot about dogs when we brought her home, but looking back, I only regret not looking around sooner. She is such a joy in all of our lives, and we are lucky to have her. She came to use through a rescue organization that saves pregnant dogs from high-kill shelters. The organization's weblink is:
We are so pleased with our Lucy, and I encourage anyone who is considering getting a dog to look into an organization such as the one we used.

This is Lucy now. This picture was taken a few weeks ago. She has about doubled in size, but her approximate estimated size and weight were close to what the organization predicted. We adopted her after having a preliminary visit to the vet, her first round of shots and microchipping.
